Commonsense Bidding is a thorough and complete guide to basic, commonsense bidding. Root addresses just about every situation that the average player will encounter in standard bidding, while supplying examples to illustrate how to value your hand, opening no-trump bids, scoring, and more.

His many best-selling bridge books include The ABCs of Bridge, How to Play a Bridge Hand, and How to Defend a Bridge Hand (all of which won the Book of the Year title awarded by the American Bridge Teachers' Association.)
